Turn One Dragon Coloring Page into a Story
Use one free original dragon printable, a mysterious door, and three simple questions to help a child tell their own story.
A story can begin with just one picture. On this original BoysColor page, a friendly dragon stands beside a closed arched door. The child decides what the door leads to, why the dragon is there, and what happens next. Coloring makes the setting feel like their own before anyone has to find words.
The three questions below are prompts, not a script. A younger child can answer aloud while an adult listens or writes one sentence on the back.
Start with three story questions
Look at the dragon, the path, and the door together. Ask one question at a time and accept surprising answers. If the child prefers to color first, save the questions for afterward.

Keep the child’s version
Write the story on the back, record an audio retelling, or simply remember it together—whatever feels natural. There is no correct ending. If the child asks for another page, a separate dragon collection can extend the theme, but this single sheet is enough for a complete story.
